Agents and Publishers participating:

Manic D Press was founded by Jennifer Joseph in 1984. An
internationally-distributed, award-winning independent press based in San
Francisco, Manic D publishes fiction, poetry, pop culture, and art books. We
represent a diverse group of unique writers and artists, with emphasis on
those who have been shunned by the traditional publishing establishment for
lacking commercial viability, regardless of their talent or future promise.
Among our discoveries are authors Beth Lisick, Michelle Tea, and Graham
Roumieu. In 2009 we are celebrating our 25th year of publishing with new
works by Francesca Lia Block, Lynn Breedlove, and Amber Tamblyn, and several
other talented and wonderful writers.

Michael Larsen - Elizabeth Pomada Literary Agents is Northern California's
oldest literary agency, helping writers launch careers since 1972. Members
of the Association of Authors' Representatives, Elizabeth, who represents
commercial and literary fiction plus narrative non-fiction, and Michael, who
handles non-fiction, have sold hundreds of books to more than one hundred
publishers. They are also the co-founders of the San Francisco Writers
Conference and the Writing for Change Conference.

April Eberhardt joined Reece Halsey North as a Literary Agent in 2008 after
five years of editorial work with Zoetrope: All-Story, a literary magazine,
and another agency. Her specialty is adult literary fiction, particularly
ironic family dramas and realistic midlife tales, often with a twist,
preferably involving strong female characters. She is attracted to
collections of interlinked stories with a common character or theme. An
original voice and smart, speedy delivery are critical, as is a subtle sense
of the absurd. She enjoys working with new authors to edit and streamline
their manuscripts before submitting them to publishers. April does consider
selected non-fiction works. She does not represent mysteries or murders,
thrillers, historical fiction or fantasy, nor does she represent children's
titles. Pitches should be short and concise, including a brief synopsis of
the work. It's helpful to have 10 pages or so of the manuscript to offer as
a writing sample.

Ted Weinstein is an AAR-member literary agent representing a broad range of
non-fiction for adults.  His areas of focus fall into three categories,
narrative, practical and pop culture, more specifically: journalism and
narrative nonfiction; popular science; biography and history; current
affairs; business and personal finance; sports; health, fitness and
medicine; food and cooking; entertainment and pop culture (often based on
popular Web sites or blogs), and quirky reference books.  More information
about his agency and clients is available at
www.twliterary.com .

Georgia Hughes is editorial director at New World Library (www.newworldlibrary.com), where she acquires and edits nonfiction books in the areas of animals, spirituality, personal growth, sustainable business, animals, and women’s issues. New World Library, publisher of the bestselling The Power of Now and Creative Visualization is a member of the Green Press Initiative. Recent acquisitions include The Life Organizer by Jennifer Louden, Angel Cats and RESCUED: Saving Animals from Disaster by Allen and Linda Anderson, 20 Something, 20 Everything by Christine Hassler, and Secret History of Dreaming by Robert Moss.

Verna Dreisbach is a literary agent and an award winning published author who has been featured in books, literary journals, magazines, and newspapers. Her Seal Press anthology on women and horses is due for publication in 2010. Verna is the founder of Capitol City Young Writers, a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages creative writing in aspiring youth. Dreisbach Literary Management represents both fiction and non-fiction authors with a particular interest in books with a political, economic or social context. With over 13 years of law enforcement experience as a police officer, Verna also has a genuine interest and expertise in the genres of mystery, thriller and true crime.
