Both Reid and Waters will read segments from their books in a back and forth format to highlight the similar themes found in one another’s works.

Each book is set in Sonoma County and share similarities in time and place. The main action occurs in the late 1990s or early 2000s, but both plots contain flashbacks to the childhood and teenage years of their characters, back to the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Most settings are in the small towns of Sonoma County: Sebastopol, Healdsburg, Petaluma, in the redwoods, vineyards, beach towns, and along the winding back roads.

Also revealed is the dark side of Sonoma County: drugs, and family secrets that cut across all strata of society. The lush wine country becomes a rich tapestry for a weaving of stories during a time of great social change and experimentation.

But mostly it is the characters in these books whose humanity will stay with us long after reading. We see friendships forged in childhood that form lasting and loving bonds. We see friends who become family and families that disintegrate into eccentricities, denial, and dysfunction.

Readers will long remember Cinnamon Monday in THE ANGELS’ SHARE, her quest for identity and friendship, from the imaginary friends of childhood to the fictional characters in her beloved books, to those who almost destroy her, and those who ultimately find her.

SOMETHING IN STONE brings us five unique women friends who create a “home” for one another over decades. Chris, Rennie, Abby, Nina, and Morgan take different paths in life yet find their way back to reclaim their sixth friend, Annette, who walked into the ocean on Prom Night and left behind a mystery and more…

Books will be for sale and for signing!
