2010 Pannell Winners Announced

The 2010 Pannell Award winners have been announced. Green Toad Bookstore in Oneonta, N.Y., has won in the general bookstore category; an honorable mention was awarded to Third Place Books  in Lake Forest Park, Wash. Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, Ga., won in the children’s bookstore category. The awards, sponsored by the Women’s National Book Association and underwritten by the Penguin Young Readers Group, go to bookstores that display creativity, responsiveness to community needs, passion, and understanding of young readers. Each winner will receive a check for $1,000 and a framed piece of original art donated this year by David Diaz and Gianna Marino. The awards will be presented during BEA at the Children’s Book and Author Breakfast on May 26.
